I am the queen of snacking, so I am always on the lookout for healthy snack ideas. I love chickpeas because they’re so versatile. They can be used in salads, curries, blended into chickpea mash and the list goes on. I also love them because they’re so high in protein. I often get hungry in the afternoons (even after I’ve had my afternoon snack) just before dinner time. These crunchy little bites are packed with flavour and are a great replacement if you are craving a packet of chips. The Citrus, Sumac and Hibiscus blend from Woolworths goes deliciously well with the chickpeas. Yum!
Crunchy Spiced Chickpeas
Makes: 1 tin
1 tin chickpeas, drained
Olive oil, enough to cover the chickpeas
2 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp Woolworths Citrus, Sumac and Hibiscus blend
1. Preheat oven to 150’celsius. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. Spread the chickpeas ovenly on the baking tray and drizzle with olive oil.
3. Coat chickpeas in spices. Taste to see if more salt/pepper is needed.
4. Bake in the oven for 20 mins or until crispy.
